Välkommen, Fredrik!
We’re excited to warmly welcome Fredrik Forslund to the Port of Piteå and our team! Fredrik recently stepped into the role of infrastructure manager, joining us from his previous position as a project manager at SCA. He takes over from Jens Åhman, who has served as interim infrastructure manager over the past year.
With extensive experience in the industry—primarily from his time at SCA—Fredrik joins us at an exciting stage as the Port of Piteå continues to grow as a key player in the region’s infrastructure and societal transformation.
“It was mainly the new challenges that attracted me,” Fredrik says.
“I’ve spent several years in the paper industry and felt ready to take the next step. There’s a lot happening in Norrbotten when it comes to infrastructure, and I’m excited to contribute to that development in a port environment.”
As infrastructure manager, Fredrik will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance and investments within the port area align with our long-term goals and strategies. He will also coordinate with our operators and partners in logistics and transport.
“I’ve had a great start. Everyone here is committed and forward-looking,” he adds.
When asked what he’s most looking forward to in his new role, he says:
“Learning new things and developing. I’m driven by stepping outside my comfort zone—that’s when you grow. The port plays a crucial role for industry and business in Piteå, and it feels meaningful to be part of that.”
Outside of work, Fredrik enjoys spending time in the kitchen. His favorite dish? Homemade pizza with slow-fermented dough, his own tomato sauce, topped with truffle salami, arugula, and balsamic glaze—baked in his very own gas-fired oven, of course.
